College matters

Semester 2 Exams

Exams will be held for Year 9, 10 and 11 from Wednesday 13 November to Tuesday 19 November. Students will be able to access their exam timetable on Compass. Students should be actively revising content from the semester over the next few weeks and can discuss revision techniques with their teachers.

Wednesday 20 November is a Pupil Free Day and the following two days will be a combination of exam feedback and normal classes.

The 2020 Headstart program begins the following Monday.

2020 Headstart

Week 1:  25-29 November (2020 Years 8 to 12)

Week 2:  2-6 December  (2020 Years 8 to 12)

Week 3: 9-13 December (2020 Years 8 & 9)

Booklists

The booklists will be available from Friday 15 November.

Please take care in reading all the information about books and electronic resource purchase as there is more than one platform for resource purchase. Second-hand books will be available through an MGSC Facebook page – this was run for the first time last year and was very successful – more information about this page will be available on the 15 November via Compass.

We encourage students where possible to arrange for the swapping of books to be on site at school, or to attend a premises with a parent/guardian.

Road closures

The LXRP have advised Charman Road, Cheltenham will be closed between Blagdon Street and Station Road from 2pm Friday 15 November to Friday 6 December 2019. Traffic diversions and bus routes changes will be in place.

The closure of Park Road, Cheltenham rail crossing a few weeks ago impacted traffic over a large area with congestion along alternative routes. Our entire school community is encouraged to be informed about road closures in the local area.

See the LXRP or PTV websites to see how this will impact your journey to MGSC or use this link to the LXRP notification: Charman Road Temporary Closure
