Diwali celebrations

Diwali, the Hindu festival of light, was celebrated at the end of October.

Led by Year 9 students Rhini Geetha Ashok Balaji and Sri Dyavanapally and the Multicultural Club, activities included lantern making, henna workshops, food tastings and rangoli art creations. A highlight was the Indian dancing flash mob with traditional saris adding extra Bollywood glamour.

Very special thanks to parents Srilatha and Geetha for providing homemade sweet treats gavvalu, kesar peda and gulab jamun and the tasty Indian mix. They were a big hit. Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. With happiness and in early summer heat, we achieved that!
