Latest News and Reminders

REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS - YOU MUST SIGN UP TO ENGAGE TO VIEW 2020 END OF YEAR SCHOOL REPORTS.

On Wednesday we held a short service at 11.00am for Remembrance Day.  The 11th hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month, each year, is the time when Australians take time to remember the men and women who fought and died in wars.

It was originally called Armistice Day, the day when the first World War ended after four years of fighting. Close to 62,000 Australians, men and women lost their lives during the first world war.

Together with the United Kingdom, the government of Australia decided to rename Armistice Day, Remembrance Day after the end of WW2. New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom and Australia all commemorate Remembrance Day.

Thanks to the Year 11 Leaders: Carolyn Mayom, Charlene Nheu, Gina Lam and Linda Nguyen for leading the service, and to Mr Bernie Hickey for playing the trumpet.

The Year 12 VCAA exams commenced this week. We wish all of the girls best wishes, both for their exams and as their year draws to a close.

An abridged version of Year 11 exams commence on Monday 23rd November.  The compulsory Year 12 and Year 11 2021 Transition Program commences on Thursday 26th November.

This week has also heralded the easing of COVID restrictions, with excursions and sporting activities being reintroduced into schools. It may be late into the school year, but this advice has been so warmly welcomed by staff and students alike.

Yesterday another tradition within the College was achieved, as the annual Harmony Day, some months late, was finally celebrated. It was wonderful to see the many cultural costumes being worn by students and staff alike.

Best wishes for the coming week
