Visual Art Show 2022, Term 4
Theme: ‘ My Proudest piece of Art ‘
Early in Term 4 (dates to be confirmed), we will be restarting the bi-annual Kingswood Visual Arts Show. This years’ show will feature one piece of art created by every student at KPS and chosen by themselves to be the piece that they are ‘most proud of ‘. So it is their choice!
Within the Art Show there will be an Art Competition based on the annual Australian Archibald Prize. This prize is the most prestigious Art competition in all of Australia.
How will our mini Archibald work?
Each grade will view the artwork from another grade and vote on ONE piece of art to be entered into the Kingswood mini Archibald.
This means that 26 very lucky and talented students (one from each grade) will be entered into the competition, as voted by the students.
There will be two categories: Prep - Year 2 and Year 3 - 6, with three prizes awarded for each of the categories.
The prize awards are based on the real Archibald:
- Archibald Prize (overall winner) as voted by Art Teachers, Mrs McLean and Mrs Eeckman
- Packing Room Prize as voted on by the Student Leaders of KPS
- The People’s Choice Award as voted by parents, friends and community
These winners will receive an Art Prize pack for winning our prestigious Kingswood mini Archibald.
Rules of the mini Archibald.
- The art must have been completed during Visual Art lessons at Kingswood Primary School.
- Art work must have been completed in 2022
- All voters may only vote once
