Dance Showcase
WPSC presents 'Pay it Forward'
Dance Showcase
On Thursday 6th June, the Junior and Senior Dance students (Year 8 - Year 11) performed in the Semester 1 WPSC Dance Showcase at Westside, Mooroopna.
The Showcase was a hit and it was great to see our students shine. We had a wonderful audience and the performances included class pieces, duets, solos, a theatrical piece based on the “Pay it Forward” movie, and a very special item featuring the Silver Warriors from the “I Wish I’d Asked” program.
This program is about connecting generations to reduce loneliness and depression. Our wonderful Silver Warriors and students met together every Friday to collaborate and rehearse the dance piece. New friendships have been made between the bookend generations and we thank the founders, Danny Finley and Eva Gruen, the staff at Shepparton Villages, and David Earle from Rotary for their incredible support.
The standard of the work on the night was very high and also included some dance pieces that qualified at a national competition level. Our school is very proud of our amazing dance students who had a ball preparing for this event and there has been some heart warming connections made between our Silver Warriors and our students.
Well done to all of our students who performed on the night, and a big thank you also to the staff and students who assisted backstage and with front of house.
