Immigration Museum
Year 8 Geography
Over the last four weeks, our Year 8 Migration and Megacities class has been exploring immigration through the idea that "sharing stories are one of the most powerful aspects of being human.” From sharing our own family immigration stories, to our excursion to the Immigration Museum, we have developed a deeper understanding of diversity and multiculturalism, and how this has shaped Australia's story.

Brodie P - I learned about the door to door salesman by the name of Simcha Baevski and how he got to the top, and I learned about how good the food in Asia was.
Ola - Last Thursday we went to the Immigration museum with another Year 8 class. First we went to the Art gallery. After eating we walked to the Immigration museum. In the museum we got given little booklets to fill out. The museum was pretty cool.
Bianca - After lunch we walked to the Immigration Museum. When we got to the museum we went to a room and learnt about certain peoples past and how some of those people came from certain parts of the world like China, Russia, Africa, Vietnam, England. After we learnt more of their past story, we went to another room to learn more about migration and we had to fill out the museum passports.
