First Eucharist Choir thank you

Special thanks to Eirene Von Dincklage, Molly Bright and Lexie Brown and their families for honouring their commitment to singing in the First Eucharist Choir too. This small but dedicated choir did a fabulous job and certainly held their own although they made up a very small choir. You all looked and sounded beautiful. Thank you so much!

Past St Brendans Students Representing our local Catholic Community

at World Youth Day in Portugal.

Past St Brendan’s students, and now present Padua College students, Yasmine McCoy and Bella Walsh embarked on the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Lisbon, Portugal last Saturday. We wish them every blessing and joy as they participate in this wonderful youth celebration of the global Catholic Church. The girls received a special gift from the Westernport Parish at the Mass on July 22nd. We are so proud of the girls and so pleased to see them representing the youth alumni of St Brendan’s in their continuing faith and life journey. We can't wait to hear all about their adventures on their return. Good luck and God bless you, Yasmine and Bella. Facebook users may wish to follow the World Youth Day page via the Melbourne Archdiocese page to see the highlights of this wonderful gathering of young Catholics.

Social Justice Action Team News

The SJAT are working in partnership with the Mini Vinnies teams from St Brendan’s, St Joseph’s and St Mary’s to support families within our school communities. They will organise the preparation of food items to be stored at each school for those in immediate need in times of challenge, eg an illness in the family. Please watch this space for updates on this exciting project.

Catholic Baptism

For families considering The Sacrament of Catholic Baptism for their child/ren, please contact the Western Port Parish Centre on (03) 5979 4374. Should you make Baptism arrangements with the Parish, please inform me so that this special milestone for your child can be acknowledged within the school community. Please also forward a copy of your child’s Baptism Certificate to the school so that this can be reflected in the school records.

Families who wish for their children to receive any sacrament or The Rite of Reception through the parish, have been requested by Fr Shymon to make timely arrangements, as adequate preparation is required. This is especially important when families wish to enroll in school sacramental preparation programs, such as First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.
