A sneak peak of our New Indigenous Garden (Before planting)

In Year 1/2T, we were given a pumpkin from our Brendan’s Garden and we named him Popsy. The children wrote Popsy stories. Below are some of our creative stories.
One snowstorm Popsy was riding on his goat heading back to his farm. He sold some supplies to the market but his goat tripped on a rock! They got buried in the snowstorm… The next morning they dug their way out of the snow. They finally saw a light. They accidently rolled into a river but they couldn't swim! Popsy was washed onto the shore of a lake and his map was ripped. He would have to travel back if he could remember the way. Then he set off. First he arrived at a village. He asked if he could stay there. They said, “Okay but you have to pay fifty pumpkin bucks a week, get it?” “Got it,” said Popsy. Two months later he left and after climbing mountains and going through glaciers he finally made it back home.

Bang! “What was that?” said Popsy. Popsy was scared so Popsy decided to go on a vacation to Hawaii. The next day Popsy went on vacation to Hawaii that Popsy had planned. One day, in Hawaii, Popsy went to the beach and went in the water. Two days past and Popsy was tired so Popsy went back to his house. In the morning Popsy woke up. Popsy went to the beach and met up with some friends. They had the best time ever. Suddenly there was a shark! All of the people were running out of the water. Only one person was eaten by the shark. Mr Potato Head was eaten by the shark.

Popsy Goes to Paris
Phhhhhhh! The plane was flying to Paris. Rosie had hidden a pumpkin called Popsy in her suitcase. Bang! The plane had finally landed after four long hours.They had landed in Paris. Mum,Dad, and Rosie were pounding to get their bags, leave the airport, and get to the hotel. It was 12 o’clock in the morning. When Rosie opened the suitcase, she was not looking and Popsy rolled out the door and into a cheese shop. This weirdo thought Popsy was cheese and dumped Popsy in with the cheddar cheese. Popsy said, “Hi”. The cheddar cheese did not reply. How rude Popsy thought. The weirdo fell asleep and on rolled Popsy down the street. He got misplaced with a soccer ball and landed on a mannequin's head and then rolled into the Barber’s shop. When he rolled out he had swirly blue hair. How will Popsy get back? How does Rosie feel? Popsy saw a carrot run out of the grocery shop and caught it’s attention. It was a girl! Maybe Popsy had a girlfriend. Popsy asked her what her name was. She said, “Ginger”. Popsy also asked if she could roll him up the hill, so she rolled him up the hill. Rosie saw Popsy and hugged him tightly. She saw Ginger and said, “I could use another friend at home’’. When they got back Ginger and Popsy got married and had a child called Cunkin which was a boy. The next day… wait… WHERE IS CUNKIN…

Popsy And His Great Adventure
BOOM!!!!!!! “What was that?” asked Maisy. She was in her shop all by herself, cleaning up after her open day sale, so it was very scary. She looked around the veggie aisle and she saw a pumpkin that had fallen off the shelf. Then all of a sudden she heard the shop doors open. Maisy ran to the checkout as fast as she could. Maisy still had the pumpkin in her hands, when she saw a customer. “Oh, I am very sorry but our shop is closed,” said Maisy. “I just need one pumpkin! Can I have that one please?” asked the customer. “Well then here you go,” said Maisy as she handed over the pumpkin. “Thank you so much” said the customer as she was walking out of the shop. When the customer went out to her car her husband was waiting there. “You got one Jenny!” he shouted. (Jenny was the name of the customer) The husband and Jenny drove home together. When they got home they showed their daughter Sunny. When Sunny saw the pumpkin she snatched it out of her Mum’s hands and ran to her room as fast as she could. Sunny decorated it with cardboard glasses, stuck on googly eyes, and made blue hair to stick on it too. Then finally Sunny scribbled a mouth on. “There we go, now I am going to name you…maybe Popsy!” said Sunny to herself. Sunny soon came out of her room and showed her parents the pumpkin. “We will never eat this pumpkin that I named Popsy!” One year later Sunny turned eleven. She was on a holiday with her friend from highschool. Sunny still carried around Popsy. First Popsy and Sunny had to find their apartment in New Zealand. “Hello Sunny” a voice suddenly said. “Who was that!?” shouted Sunny. “I do not know!” Annie, Sunny's friend, cried. “It's me Popsy”. “OMG!!!” they shouted together. The next day they decided to live in New Zealand.

At night Popsy’s door creaked open. Popsy went outside to have a look. Popsy found a forest. He went into the forest and suddenly the ground was shaking. Popsy went deeper into the forest. Popsy saw giant footsteps. Popsy followed them and found two pythons. Popsy found a jungle temple and he saw two giant titans. Popsy ran as fast as he could. He warned the Vegetable Village and Popsy got everyone to fight the titans and they won.
