On Friday 24th of March, the Year 8 volleyball teams competed at their district level tournament. All four teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts on the day! The B girls had a particularly challenging day, playing with only four team members. This did not hold them back, winning all three of their matches against William Ruthven, Northcote and Thornbury. Fantastic effort! The B boys were able to overcome their initial loss to Northcote, winning their second game against Thornbury. The A girls won both of their matches, making it through to the final against Northcote. The girls played exceptionally well, however the opposition were just too strong on the day. Incredibly proud of the girls’ efforts and they should be as well, making it to the final is no easy feat! The A boys also finished at the top of their pool, defeating Thornbury in an epic final. The team will go through to the regional finals and we wish them the very best of luck. An overall fantastic display of athleticism and sportsmanship from our wonderful students at Lalor! Huge thank you to my fabulous student coaches – Jakeh, Smile, Ann and Zach! 😊
