Beacon Charter Signing
Year 10 students participated in our Beacon Charter Signing event on Tuesday 26th March. Students and community members listened to our beacons of light - former students, Ayden Graham, Larz Martin, Abbi Costa and Adem Barolli. They presented inspirational stories about their journeys, both good and bad, and how they arrived at their current destination in regards to their career, showing how resilience, commitment and hard work can help students achieve their goals.
Adem Barolli– Extremely passionate about personal development and achieving goals, with an infectious and persistent work ethic and friendly disposition, Adem has progressed from Sports Journalist to Independent Herbalife Nutrition Distributor and is completing a Personal Training qualification.
Abbi Costa – has followed a varied pathway. Leaving school to open the Butter Factory Café with her mother then following a passion for Health Science with Latrobe University, completing a Bachelor of Health Science Master Podiatrist Practice. She now works for Lakeside Podiatry in Shepparton.
Ayden Graham– Former student of the Deaf Facility at Shepparton High School, Ayden has always pursued Business and Accounting starting with work experience in year 10. After finishing year 12 Ayden completed a Bachelor Degree in Business /Accounting with Latrobe University Shepparton. An avid tennis player Ayden has been selected to represent Australia in the Deaf Games in Hong Kong later this year.
Larz Martin– found school quite challenging but Larz had a passion for auto and secured an apprenticeship when leaving school. He became an award winning apprentice and dabbled in modelling. He has recently opened his own Automotive business “LPM Automotive.”
The Pledge board has been signed and commitments made by all who attended.
'I pledge to continue my schooling and engage in further education, training or ongoing employment, and to continue lifelong learning within school, family and community beyond year ten, I encourage my peers to do likewise.'
