Girls Touch Football

Under 18s State Finals

On Tuesday 26th March a team of nine students from year 9 to 12 travelled to Elwood Park in Melbourne to compete at the 2019 Touch Football Victoria State Finals after qualifying for the tournament last year.

The girls played three games over the course of a lovely sunny afternoon, battling it out against Yarra Valley Grammar, Chaffey Secondary College, Holy Trinity Lutheran College and Caulfield Grammar. Unfortunately, the team did not register any wins but showed consistent improvement throughout the day and a great deal of heart, never giving up and consistently fighting until the final siren.

The team consisted of  Julia Pata, Jojo Pata, Latoya Mariner, Nancy Falefata, Celestial Lopu, Abigail Soi, Maria Soi, Angela Moananu and Rose Moananu. Many thanks to Charlie Moananu who came along as an assistant coach. His knowledge of the game greatly assisted the girls throughout the day.

All in all, the girls had a very enjoyable day out and can stand proud knowing that they are the fourth best team in their division in the state!
