YEAR 12 CHANGE OF PREFERENCE PERIOD (Assistance)
The Year 12 ATAR results come out on Thursday December 16th (7am). Year 12 students then have until Monday December 20th (4pm) to finalise their VTAC Course Preferences. The last day of school for the year is Friday December 17th, so this does not give them long in getting assistance to make any changes to their preferences. La Trobe University will have representatives coming to school on Friday December 17 between 9:30am and 10:30 am to help anyone requiring it. They will be located in the Year 12 Study Area. Please make sure you take advantage of their expertise. Mr Huddy will also be available on December 16th and 17th to provide assistance. Each institution will also have Hotlines set up to assist students.
WORK EXPERIENCE – Yr 10 & 11
There has not been a lot of opportunity for Year 10 or 11 students to complete work experience this year due to COVID restrictions. Normally every student in Year 10 and 11 would have the chance to complete work experience. Students will have the opportunity to complete work experience once their classes for the year are finished. If anyone wants to contact an employer and organise some local work experience during December, please see Mr Huddy.

There have been a number of job vacancies for students advertised through XUNO over the last number of weeks. These jobs are listed below. Now is the time to plan for next year, as there will be less opportunities available the closer we get to Christmas.
Engineering Apprenticeship – Rochester
This is a local Engineering Apprenticeship available with Paul Evans Welding in Rochester, involving welding and metal fabrication. You will need to be in Year 10 or above to be considered for the apprenticeship. Please contact Narelle on 5484 1746 to find out more and express your interest.
Engineering Apprenticeship – Rochester

Nursery Traineeship - Rochester

Plumbing Apprenticeship - Local
A local plumber is looking to put on an apprentice for next year. You need to currently be in Year 11 or Year 12 and will need to complete a week's work experience to trial for the job. See Mr Huddy ASAP if you would like to complete the work experience and see if this is for you. This is a great opportunity.
Sheet Metal Apprenticeship – Echuca
There is a Sheet Metal Apprenticeship available with Rayzor Roofing in Echuca. The successful applicant will complete a Certificate III in Engineering (Light Fabrication) and assist in the manufacture of custom made flashings and rainwater goods. Office Administration Traineeship - Echuca
There is an opportunity for an Office Administration Traineeship with Rayzor Roofing in Echuca. The successful applicant will complete a Certificate III in Business as part of the position. This would suit someone finishing Year 12 this year, either for a gap year or someone looking to head into full-time employment. Moama Bakery, who are looking for staff members for all three of their stores. In particular, they are targeting Year 12 students looking for work over the summer period and beyond. Apprentice Butcher - Rochester
Elsey's Quality Chickens are looking to put on a full-time Apprentice Butcher. The successful applicant will be reliable, have good communication skills, be willing to learn and have reasonable literacy and numeracy skills. This may not be a career you have thought about before, but it is a great opportunity and they would like to employ someone reasonably local.
