Key Dates & Reminders

IMPORTANT TERM 2, 2023 DATES

Below is a list of some of the main dates on the school calendar for Term 2, 2023.  Families need to be aware that events which involve organisations outside of St John’s, such as the St Andrew’s Parish, may at times need to be rescheduled.  Please be aware that these changes are beyond our control.

CATCH UP PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS - (Year 2 Bongetti)

Thank you for your understand late last term when we were unable to conduct the second evening of Miss Bongetti's parent teacher interviews.

We would like to catch these up as soon as possible and have scheduled opportunities for each family who was affected by this, to meet with her remotely this Thursday afternoon and evening.

We ask that you use the link below to book a time meet. Please contact the office is you have any issues.

Please note that parents of students with Anaphylaxis or other serious medical conditions will be contacted to arrange a meeting to review their child’s management plan.  These meetings will be held either prior to or following your child’s parent teacher interview time.

ANZAC DAY

Anzac Day is a holiday observed on April 25 each year in Australia and New Zealand to honour all war veterans. The first Anzac Day was commemorated on April 25, 1916, one year after troops from those two countries landed at the Gallipoli Peninsula during World War I, in what is now Turkey.  As a school, we commemorated ANZAC Day with a whole school ceremony at the school flagpole on Wednesday, 26th April.

JAYDEN NEDESKI ANNIVERSARY

The first anniversary of Jayden’s passing is Monday 8th April.  On this day students will participate in Tabloid Sports Event run by staff from Kaboom.  Our Year 6 students will be special leaders on this day.  This event gives us an opportunity to remember the friendship and fun Jayden brought to our school in his time with us.   We will celebrate a Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday 24th May. Families are most welcome to join us for this Liturgy.

MOTHER’S DAY STALL

We are very excited to be holding our annual Mother’s Day Stall on Friday, 12th May.  With over 370 students needing to visit the stall, we are asking students to bring in their money by Wednesday 10th May.  This will help us to streamline things and ensure everyone gets an opportunity to visit the stall.  Unfortunately with our growing student numbers, we will no longer be able to take IOUs from students for purchasing gifts.  All gifts are priced at $5.  Any parents who are able to help set up or run the stall, are asked to contact the office.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Envelopes with instructions to order photos will be sent home with your child by the end of this week.  Each family has a unique code to order photos online.  Should you misplace your envelope, please contact the office to have your code emailed to you.

Please note that students only need to bring the envelope on photo day if they order via the envelope and are paying by Cash or Credit Card.  The envelope does not need to be returned to school for online orders.

Photo days are Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th May 2023.

SACRAMENT DATES 2023

The dates of this year’s sacramental celebrations have been finalised.  We thank families for your patience as we worked with the Bishop’s Office, the St Andrew’s Parish and the other Parish Primary Schools to schedule these dates.
