From Principal Team

Spring has sprung.

So Spring has arrived and it is an absolute delight to see the sun and dream about getting out and about in the near future. I cannot believe how fast this year has flown, even though it has been one of isolation and reflection, we are close to the end of Term 3 and preparing for Term 4 and 2021.

As we move into this weekend, I would like to acknowledge and celebrate all of our wonderful Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles, Big Brothers and Male Role Models this weekend on Father’s Day. This day is a celebration that honours fatherhood and the paternal bonds and influences the fathers and male role models play in our society.

My dad is 89 and lives in an Aged Care facility in Echuca, my husband, my children’s father, Michael, is the most amazingly dedicated father who supports our children 120% and of course there is the father figure to my grand puppy who share the bond of BFFs.  We will connect have a laugh and maybe even play Rummykin remotely while each of my boys will celebrate with a treat from Mrs C’s Cookies.

To all of our Lakes dads and important male carers in our school community, on behalf of our staff, we wish you a day of hugs and love. We hope your toast is warm, your eggs are just right and your children’s cuddles are tight.

Finally, just a few reminders to keep yourself safe; remember to wear a hat on your walks outside as the weather warms up, keep hydrated with your water intake, touch base with your family and friends via phone/text/email and take care of yourself. If your own cup is empty you can’t fill others around you.

Let’s hope the Premier has some news to warm our hearts and unlock our state on Sunday.
