Grounded Day
'Grounded Day" has become a popular highlight of the school calendar. It is a day where the community and staff facilitate a myriad of activities which all have the focus of supporting good mental health and wellbeing.
Bushwalking, arts and crafts, cake decorating, theatre sports, mindfulness and yoga, creating with wood, DND, Warhammer, table tennis, Masterchef, fitness boxing, murder mystery, Family Feud, archery, fitness in the park, nail salon... and much much more ... were on offer for students to try out and have fun engaging in.
Thank you to all the generous community members and staff who coordinated, supported and facilitated activities and a huge well done and thank you especially to Ms Fiona Kelly on the successful day.
AIME
A group of Aboriginal students attended an AIME day at UNE towards the end of Term 3.
Aim - The Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience - seeks to bridge the gap and assist overcoming hurdles facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander accessing tertiary education.
Our students participated in a range of group activities and leadership workshops, with the day culminating with several of our students addressing the group on a range of issues affecting indigenous students. It was a high energy, engaging and very positive day. We look forward to many more partnership activities in the future with AIME.
