16 Girls League Tag

Great Northern Championship

On Wednesday 2 November, the 16’s League tag girls contended in the Greater Northern Championship in Tamworth. They played against McCarthy Catholic and Aberdeen. The girls had a strong win in their first game against McCarthy. The second round game was a nail biter with the girls sadly going down in the dying seconds after being ahead most of the game.

That placed Glen in second overall, having to play McCarthy for a place in the grand final, in which they won again.

With tired legs and a lot of fatigue, the girls faced up against Aberdeen again, but sadly went down in the grand final, coming Runners up in the Greater Northern Championships.

This is an amazing effort after progressing through the regional and NW gala days previously. A great achievement by this fantastic group of female athletes.

Well done
