Book Week Celebration Day – Monday, November 2nd.

Over the next weeks, all year levels will enjoy opportunities to share many of the books that have been short-listed for the Children’s Book Council of Australia awards for 2020.

We are excited to announce our whole-school Book Week Celebration Day will take place on Monday, November 2nd. While we will be unable to have our usual whole-school parade and cross-class activities, within their own year levels, students will share favourite books and participate in fun activities that celebrate our love of reading.

On this day, students are invited to dress up as a favourite book character, author or illustrator. Families should not feel the need to buy costumes – we encourage you to be creative with whatever you have at home or to make simple costumes and props. With the participation of all, we can create a marvellous sense of excitement and celebration on this special day!

Birthday Books

Happy birthday to all of those students who have celebrated a birthday during our remote learning time. If students are wishing to make a birthday book donation to our school library, these may be given to classroom teachers. Please include a separate note with your child’s full name and class. We will have a special acknowledgement of birthday books from the last months during our book week celebrations.
