Around the College
COVID-19 Update
Please find attached a letter that is being circulated to all schools in WA. It strongly encourages the wearing of masks indoors at school for students, staff and visitors. This is not a mandate, but it advises that mask wearing indoors is a key part of the approach to minimise the spread of illness in this current situation. There are links to information contained in the letter and these resources are able to answer questions that people may have.
Absent Notifications
Just a reminder that if your child is away you need to contact the College to provide a reason why your child is away. You can email to attendance@cornerstone.wa.edu.au, use the Cornerstone app or call the Busselton campus on 9754 1144 or the Dunsborough campus on 9742 1133. If you email your child's teacher please include the attendance email to make sure the absence is recorded and to avoid being sent a reminder message.
Please also note that if you are going to be away for more then 3 days you need to notify the College in advance and a Notice of Absent form will be sent to you to complete and return. This form is then be considered by the Principal for approval.
Years 5 & 6 and Information Evening
Each year we hold a “6 to7” Information Night for parents and students to discuss what Year 7 looks like at Cornerstone. We welcome the opportunity to explain what Secondary school holds in 2023 for all the students who are starting that journey with us next year. We enjoy showcasing our College in the Secondary area so we will be meeting Room 11, part of the main quadrangle. If you’re unsure of the location, come in through the main Admin entrance and we’ll show you the way.
The session will commence at 7pm on Wednesday 3rd August, and we’ll be finished around 8pm.
This is a great opportunity to find out some of the special activities and programs that we run in Year 7 and for parents and students to ask any questions they might have. While this information is aimed at Year 6 students, we extend the invitation to Year 5 students and their families to get a head start on the information. We look forward to seeing you there.
Photo Day
Photo Day is coming up very soon so please see calendar for dates. This is a reminder that all year 3 - 12 students will be in full winter uniform including the red jumper. The black jacket is not a part of the winter uniform for photos. Students from Kindy to Year 2 will need to wear their winter Sport Uniform.
Parent Connect Busselton - It's Back
After our first big waves of COVID, which impacted our ability to gather together in different ways, it's time to reconnect and continue to grow as a community!
Please note the following dates:
Monday 01/08 (Week 3)
Monday 29/08 (Week 7)
Time 3:30pm - 4:00pm
Please come along, let your kids play, grab a cuppa and a treat made by our High School Home Economics students and have a chat. It is a time to hear about what is happening in our college, ask questions and see how you can get involved.
Hair styles
Part of our uniform policy requires hair to be shorter than collar length or tied up. It is easy for the current mullet hair style to be in conflict with this requirement. Please check your child's hair, particularly in the case of mullets, that the length is either shorter than collar length, or is able to be tied back. Individual students will be addressed in the coming days to have this corrected.
