Latest from the Library
We welcome all students and staff to the library for 2019
The library assists students to become independent learners, to be effective users of ideas and information.
The library promotes a reading culture and provides opportunities for students to engage in reading across a range of literature, to satisfy their recreational and class needs.
About borrowing books from the library:
- A maximum of 4 books at any time. Many students find it easier to borrow only 1 or 2 books, easier to keep ‘tabs’ on them! Some students are very keen readers and need to borrow 4 at a time!
- Books may be borrowed for 3 weeks. If a student wants longer, we ask that he/she comes to the library, with the book, to obtain an extension of time, unless another person has reserved the book.
- If a book is not returned on time, then it is overdue, and the borrower is not able to borrow again until the overdue book is returned.
- Students are reminded, by their Home Group teachers on Friday mornings, of any overdue book(s) they may have.
- As books are school property, we ask that students take care to look after what they borrow, in their lockers, their bags and at home. If a book is damaged or lost, the student will be asked to pay for its replacement.
- A student may request to have a book on ‘reserve’, so that when the book is returned, it can then be borrowed to that student.
Yours in reading and learning,
The library team
