Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Today in the Primary School we celebrated House Day. Our day commenced with a beautiful Mass prepared by Mrs Fontaine, Mrs Goss and our Year 6 Leaders. It was great to see all the House colour, spirit and energy that went into all the activities organised throughout the day.

Congratulations to the Year six students for also organising the Monster Cake Stall. A total of $1014.90 was raised for Project Compassion. Special thanks to everyone for supporting this fundraising project.

After school on Tuesday our Primary swimming squad participated in the IPSHA Swimming Carnival at Newman College. Congratulations to all our swimmers for their wonderful efforts and enthusiasm at the carnival. A big thank you to Mr Alderman, Mrs Magee, Mrs Burke, Mrs Gardner, Ms Allen, Miss Joyce and all the parents who assisted at the carnival. It was also great to see so many families coming along to support and cheer the students in their events.

As part of our Primary Art Program, all the children in Years 3-6 had the fantastic experience of visiting the 'Sculpture by the Sea' exhibition at Cottesloe Beach this week. This was a valuable and enjoyable learning excursion for the students and they had a wonderful time too! Thank you to Mrs Fiona Blaauw, our Art specialist for organising this excursion. Thank you, also, to the parents who volunteered to assist the classes.

It's hard to believe we are over half way through the term and teachers are now busy preparing for interviews with parents. Interviews commence from 3 April. It is essential for all parents to book a time with the teachers to find out more about your child's learning this term (further details will follow next week).

I look forward to seeing many families on the Junior Primary oval on Saturday at the Family Picnic to celebrate our 40th Anniversary on this campus.

Kind regards
