So What is this fete all about?

Our SKiPPS Fete is a huge community affair. We are set up to have fun in three main areas. The school grounds; the oval and behind the playground. On the day we open the fete with a wonderful Foundation performance at 11am. Then we have so much on offer to keep everyone entertained until the 6pm close.

 

What is the stage entertainment?

Our stage is super exciting this year. Over the morning we will have a number of student performances followed by the Orchestra. We will then have an African Drumming ensemble; NICA circus workshop; Primal Scream (St Kilda Primary School Parents band and our own  Parental as Anything to take us to the close of the day.

 

What rides are there?

There is a variety to appeal to differing ages. Try the Giant Slide, have a go at the basketball shoot out. Be brave and jump on the bungee trampoline. Relax on the chair-o-plane or the Cha Cha and rid yourself of any excess energy in the Zap zone. Can’t decide then get an all-day ticket to ride.

It is possible to buy single rides on the day or a ‘ticket to ride’ that gives unlimited access. Don’t forget if you purchase a ‘ticket to ride’ wristband prior to the day it is a little cheaper. What stalls are there?

There is so much to choose from. Most things are $1 or $2 or free there should eb something for everyone – not just the kids.

  • Coconut shy – Test your skills knock over the coconuts win a prize
  • Dig for a treasure – hidden gems can be found in the sand for the determined hunter.
  • Crazy Hair & Nails – Want an update, fancy a new hairstyle or nail colour this stall is for you
  • Lucky Jars – a lucky dip a small donation for hours of fun
  • Toys and books – Looking for a gift, what a bargain this is the stall for you. Fabulous items at a great price.
  • Artera – free arts and crafts stall
  • Ask the philosopher – we are lucky to have our very own philosopher and a comfy chair – come along and have a chat.
  • Chocolate Toss – test your skill tossing a gold coin at a block of chocolate. See if you can win!
  • Photo booth – Want a great keepsake – a fun photo with your friends. Dress up, use some props get a digital photo to keep.
  • Face Painting – Looking for a new look, every face is a canvas…
  • Ping Pong – Get that ball over the net, test your skills, win a prize have some fun.
  • Dunk a teacher – yep test that throwing arm, watch your favourite teacher squirm while you see who  you can dunk!

There are also other fun activities to let off steam while you exercise. Test your handball with South Melbourne Junior Sports Club; Have a go at the Hockey Victoria or the Cricket Victoria area and buy an all-day arm band to play Bubble soccer courtesy of Team Kids.

It sounds exhausting, What if I am hungry, thirsty, tired?

There is some much to choose from. What’s a SKiPPS event  without a sausage sizzle or some sushi? Add to that Fairy floss, a dim sim, Indian Food from Babu Ji; Vegan dishes from Plant and Soul. Then there is coffee on offer from Staple. Bring your own water bottle or grab a fruity drink or a cuppa. For the adults the bar will open in the afternoon.

Of course, there are also cakes. All the wonderful treats everyone is going to bring along. AND a cake competition as well.  

 

We will have lots of seats and there is plenty of grass.
