School Fees

You would have recently received a family statement containing details of our 2020 'Essential Student Learning Items’ School Fees.

Amongst other things, this one payment covers;

· all booklist materials,

· classroom resources and materials,

· books,

· excursion and incursion payments

· Mathletics subscription.

All government schools require an annual financial contribution to cover the cost of Essential Student Learning Items. SKiPPS chooses to purchase everything your child needs throughout the year (stationery, text books, equipment and other classroom requisites) at discounted prices. This allows us to keep school fees below what is asked by other schools and provide consistency of materials that all students can access. It is compulsory that all families make this payment.

As a school, we always try our hardest to keep these Essential Student Learning Fees as low of possible and we are happy to confirm that we have been able to find savings and set our 2020 fees lower than they were last year.

Please note the Swimming Program will be charged separately ilater in the school year and we expect all of our students to participate in this.

We ask that parents make this fee payment via Compass and payment plan options are available for families on the site.

Jazz in the Park

Thanks to everyone who came along to Jazz in the Park 2020 last week. We were blessed with a beautiful evening and, with the fete so close, ran a more relaxed evening to allow our parent community to direct their volunteering efforts towards the 29th February.

We would like to thank the wonderful team at TheirCare for running the sausage sizzle on the night to ensure that no one went hungry.

Life Education Victoria

You would have noticed a new arrival in the school yard this week - the Life Education Victoria van.

Over the next couple of weeks, each of our classes will have a session in the van to meet 'Healthy Harold' and to learn age-approprate ways that they can make safer and healthier choices. For our youngest students this will focus on hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and safety at home, school, and in the community. in the older years the students will talk about cybersafety, respectful relationships and an understanding of the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs.

The van will be open for parents during Parent Teacher interviews between 2pm - 3:30pm on Wednesday 19th February. Come along, meet Harold and find out more about this important program.

A request from the Art Room

Your child will be taking part in a weekly session of Visual Arts this year with our Art specialist Chantel.

As these sessions can get messy, please ensure you send them to school with a named art smock to wear if they are painting. These will be kept in their classroom.

The Art room is also always looking for donations of newspaper and magazines - if you have any to spare, please drop them off to Chantel or at the school office.
