Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Camp at Phillip Island – by Libby Mosely

Last week the Year 7’s went to Phillip Island for Camp. On the way, we stopped at the Nobbies and the Wildlife Park. At the Wildlife Park there were heaps of super cool animals we got stopped at the door and got given food to feed to the animals.  We set off with our groups to explore. The emus and kangaroos were super cool up close. You could get that close to them you can pat them, and hand feed them. There were pelicans, dingo, and koalas sleeping in the trees.

After the Wildlife Park we walked up to the CYC Island which is where we stayed for the two nights. There we went to the Rec room where our luggage was, before settling into our rooms.

The rest of day one was a blast. We got in our activity groups and went off to our activities. The activities included the giant swing, flying fox, circatron, mechanical rock-climbing wall, biking, and archery. Later, after we had finished our activities we got surprised with a disco.

The disco was super, super cool we had disco lights on the roof and some of the teachers joined in with the fun.

The next day we had our breakfast, then we walked up to the beach and walked around in the rock pool and had morning tea up at the beach. After the beach we started walking back to the camp site to finish our group’s activities.

That night we watched movie on the projector and had a relaxing night.

Day three was our trip home. We stopped at a park in San Remo to stretch and eat our lunch, we went for a walk around then got back in the bus; the trip home was quiet.

Overall camp was an absolutely great experience.
