Course Selection for 2023

Year 7 into 8 

Please note, as Year 8 at ESC is a set course no course selection needs to occur

Year 8 into 9

Subject selection time for students for 2023 has now arrived. Please find below a list of important dates for your diary:

• Tuesday 2nd August Middle School Curriculum Handbook published 
• Monday 8th August Web codes for completing Course Selection via Edval emailed to students.
• Monday 8th August all materials for planning etc. available on News Feed (Compass) 

• Monday 8th August Period 2 in EPAC and via Webex Student Course Selection Assembly
• Monday 8th August 7.00 pm in EPAC and via Webex Parent/Student Course Selection information evening.
• Wednesday 17th August 2022 3.30pm Year 9 (2023) subject selections due on Edval.
• Tuesday 2nd August 6.00 – 7.30pm ‘Future Options Expo’ at ESC. Representatives from universities (e.g. Deakin, Swinburne and Monash), TAFE (e.g. Box Hill, RMIT), Police, Defence Force, Apprenticeship and GAP year organisations will be attending providing students with the opportunity to discuss their career pathway options.
• Tuesday 2nd August EPAC 6.00pm EPAC and via Webex Parent/student course selection information evening. 
• Tuesday 16th August 2022 3.30pm Year 10 (2023) subject selections forms handed to Careers Hub/ Front office for processing

Subject selection time for students for 2023 has now arrived. Please find below a list of important steps and dates for your diary:

• Wednesday 27th July -2023 Senior School Curriculum Handbook published
• Tuesday 2nd August 6.00-7.30pm- ‘Future Options Expo’ at ESC. Representatives from universities (e.g. Deakin, Swinburne and Monash), TAFE (e.g. Box Hill, RMIT), Police, Defence Force, Apprenticeship and GAP year organisations will be attending providing students with the opportunity to discuss their career pathway options.
• Tuesday 2nd August 6.30pm EPAC and via Webex– Parent/student course selection information evening (Year 10 into 11) session.
• Tuesday 2nd August – Parent / Student VET/VM Information Session in EPAC (and Webex) 7 -7.30 pm.
• Wednesday 3rd August – Bookings for Year 10 into 11 Subject Selection Interviews open on Compass. Note: a separate text / email will advise when these are open.
• Thursday 11th August Year 10 into 11 Subject Selection Interviews.  Parents can join in person or via Webex link (provided later). 

Please use the attached Planning Form to guide your selections – you will need to bring the completed form to the Subject Selection Interviews, as well as a copy of your Career Action Plan.

Year 11 into 12

Subject selection time for students for 2023 has now arrived. Please find below a list of important steps and dates for your diary:

• Friday 29th July – Web codes for completing Course Selection via Edval emailed to students
• Friday 29th July – Instructional ‘Powerpoint’ for filling out Course Selection online published
• Tuesday 2nd August - ‘Future Options Expo’ at ESC. Representatives from universities (e.g. Deakin, Swinburne and Monash), TAFE (e.g. Box Hill, RMIT), Police, Defence Force, Apprenticeship and GAP year organisations will be attending providing students with the opportunity to discuss their career pathway options.
• Friday 5th August 3.30pm. Year 12 (2023) subject selections on Edval completed.

Future Options Expo returns in 2022

The Careers Department from E.S.C. is proud to announce that the ‘Future Options Expo’ is returning to ESC after a 2 year break because of COVID. The ‘Future Options Expo’ will occur Tuesday 2nd August 6 - 7.30 p.m. in the Senior Centre (S- Block). Representatives from universities (e.g. Deakin, Swinburne and Monash), TAFE (e.g. Box Hill, RMIT), Police, Defence Force, Apprenticeship Groups, GAP year organisations and ESC teachers from each of the Domain /  Subject Areas will be attending providing students with the opportunity to discuss their subject choice and career pathway options. This event is available for students and parents of our current Year 9-12 students.

VTAC Applications Information Session

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students

A VTAC Applications Information Session for Year 12 students and parents/guardians will be held on Monday 1st August at 7pm in EPAC (available via WEBEX also). The WEBEX will cover applications to Universities, Fees, SEAS and Scholarships. If you can’t join us in person please use the link and password below
