WORLD SCHOLAR'S CUP REPORT

After a COVID-19 hiatus, the long-awaited World Scholar's Cup returned to Perth last weekend. The competition had 330 students (75 Junior Teams and 35 Senior Teams) participate from schools such as Aquinas College, Scotch College, Carine SHS, Newman College, Perth College, Shenton College, Kelmscott SHS, Byford SHS, Guildford Grammar, St Andrew’s Grammar and John XXIII College. Sacred Heart had 69 keen students involved.

Students competed in teams of three as well as individually in debating, writing, a 120 question multiple choice activity on the extensive curriculum and a Kahoot! style bowl where they answered questions like “If Isaac Asimov wrote a book which of the following would most likely be the title?" There was also lots of fun in the process, including an (un)talent show!

OurSacred Heart Learner Attribute of Critical Thinking was a key to success.

Congratulations to all of our students, two of whom went home with 12 medals! Below is an outline of winners who were in the top 10 in each category as there were way too many to mention.
