SUPPORTING TELETHON

It is always heartwarming to hear that so many students are willing to volunteer their time and talents to Telethon and help raise funds for children in Perth. Below are just some of the many ways students were involved.

HEART CAFÉ

Last week, students who attend the Mary MacKillop Centre raised $320 for Telethon by donating funds from their Sacred Heart famous Heart Café sessions. The students made hot and cold beverages for staff to purchase, as well as a yummy treat. Well done!

SCOTT GUERINI (YEAR 11)

Scott Guerini (Year 11 Trinity) started Scott's Great Walk for Telethon when he was just four to raise money for WA's sick kids. He has continued his mission to walk for Telethon every year since and now completes a marathon down Koolyanobbing Road from his farm in Southern Cross to the town centre. As well as his marathon, Scott completes a 50km Treadmill Challenge at the Family Festival on the Sunday of the Telethon weekend.

This year, Scott completed his 6th 50km treadmill challenge. He started at 7:00am and finished just before 3:30pm and was cheered on by Fat Cat on the final stretch.

Scott has raised over $10,200 this year and just over $211,000 since 2010 for Telethon. Amazing!

JORDAN RABBONE (YEAR 12), JACINTA LONGAMORE (YEAR 11) AND SIENNA RABBONE (YEAR 10)

Jordan Rabbone (Year 12 Carden), Jacinta Longamore (Year 11 Thu Duc) and Sienna Rabbone (Year 10 Carden) formed a dynamic trio and performed just hours before Jordan's Graduation Ceremony on Sunday morning. Jordan led the stage with his new single, Higher, which debuted on Friday. The performance was spectacular. Jacinta and Sienna then made it back to the College in time to perform as part of our College Choir at the Graduation Mass and watch Jordan graduate.

The original recording of Higher features Ella McCaughey (Cultural Captain) and Jessica Anthony (Year 12 Hannan) as the backing choir. You can listen HERE

SOFIA RIPPINGALE (YEAR 9)

Year 9 Barlow student Sofia Rippingale also had the opportunity to showcase her vocal and songwriting talents by performing her newest original song, Head Up High. The day before her performance, Sofia raised $400 for Telethon by busking at a local weekend food truck festival.

You can listen to Head Up High HERE.
