Hi Families,

Welcome to the Educational page!

It has been a fabulous term getting to know and developing my role as educational leader here at Haven and getting a know a few of our faces too, this has been lovely. What a fast but incredible Term with many achievements and many more to look forward too! A few key notes from Term 4 have been:

Educational Program Development – Learning through play!

I have been working with Bronwyn, Educators and children to establish a program cycle here at Haven that will facilitate children’s learning and development. This has been a learning journey for myself and the team here but one we are very happy to share, work with and have input in your child’s learning and development from you all! 😊Our curriculum programs are driven by the National Quality Frameowork, Learning outcomes and children’s individual goals. These goals are created through our collection of data from you as parents, what we know about all children through what we observe and how we can drive their learning and interests further and celebrates their strengths. We look forward to sharing more about children’s learning and development with you all further and working with you to develop meaningful learning goals for your children, as well as special moments to cherish. 

Floor books-Live documentation!

You may have seen open A3 books outside the rooms of River and Sun and inside the rooms of Forest and Field. 

These floor books show the room programs which is inclusive of everything the children are currently learning and engaging with in the rooms! Along with stories on storypark you will be able to see what is currently happening, spontaneous moments, birthdays, special events and individual goals. We welcome you to look and have input though our parent input displayed with the floor books, this might look like; any suggestions you may have and/or anything you would like to share that you are doing with your children outside of the service and of course we always welcome a conversation😊

Portfolios- The Learning Journey!

Portfolios are outside the rooms too and show the learning, creativity, special moments, and the learning journey your children have been involved in throughout the year. Please feel free to look through your child’s folder at any time! It is a great moment to go through and discover what has been happening and share with your children together, too. 😊These portfolios do go home with you all at the end of their time within the room and continue with your child should the be staying an extra year in the room.
