President's Report

Hi Livingston families

It’s great to have everyone back onsite as we all readjust to normal day to day life and activities. I think everyone has a spring in their step! It’s hard to believe summer holidays are only around the corner and this will be our final newsletter of the year. 

A big thank you to our Director Louise, teachers and educators for their dedication and commitment in keeping the kindergarten operational whilst trying to navigate a pandemic. We thank them for their passion, resilience and the ability to adapt quickly throughout this challenging year. They establish wonderful relationships with the children and we are lucky to have experienced and quality teachers and educators who help shape our children in their early years learning. 

We have our 2021 AGM this Monday, 22nd November at 7.30pm via Zoom. For those families who will be attending the kindergarten next year, you would of received an invitation and we look forward to seeing you online. A big shout out to this years Committee of Management who have given up their time during another extremely challenging and complex year to ensure our community run kindergarten remained operational and compliant with all Department of Education (DET) directives. 

It’s great restrictions have eased again this week as we hit the 90% vaccination target. COVID safe practices are still required at kindergartens including wearing of masks indoors and only fully vaccinated can enter the building. DET has requested children spend as much time outside as possible. If you would like to spend time at the kinder with your child, please speak to your teacher to organise a suitable time. We have purchased HEPA filters for our rooms however due to high demand, we still waiting for supply. 

It’s fantastic we can have our first official social function of the year for children and their families on Sunday 5th December at Highett Bowls Club. Details have been sent out via SchoolStream App. It’s a great opportunity for families to come together and have some fun! Please register your attendance via try booking link provided.  Thank you to Zoe and Jane for organising this special event.
