Wattle Group

Emma, Rex and Anne

It has been so lovely to have the Wattle Group back at kinder this term. The children were so excited on their first day back and bounced straight back into the kinder program.

This term we have some animal visitors in the Wattle Group; we have a mother rabbit with four kittens (baby rabbits) and some caterpillars as part of a butterfly life cycle kit. Over the next few weeks, the children will be able to see the kittens rapidly grow and the caterpillars change into butterflies. We will provide related experiences and activities around these animal guests to extend and promote children’s care for living things, inquiry skills, understanding of the world they live in, sequencing skills and cognitive development.

As the weather continues to get warmer the children will be spending more time outside and water play will be in abundance. Please remember to pack spare summer clothes in your child’s bag including some spare shoes (Crocs, gumboots and thongs are a great second pair as they can get wet).

We will be finishing the year with in-session celebrations for the children and a concert for families. Please be mindful that the concert can be overwhelming for some children and if they choose not to participate, there is no pressure. It will be a small performance  running for approximately 15minutes.

Lastly, fully vaccinated parents will be able to book in to come to the kinder for a stay and play during the Wattle session once we reach the 90% fully vaccinated rate, so if you would like to come into the Wattle Group for a play, please email us at wattlelivingston@gmail.com
