Hi Folks, 

The highlight of this fortnight has to be the Lapathon.  What a magnificent effort from all our students and such a great fundraiser for the school.   As well as organising fun runs we have also been hard at it planning for the Parents Mid-Year event in July and the Community Carnival in November.  We also managed to squeeze in a mum’s social night too!!

Lapathon

What a brilliant day watching our students give their all running for their House, class and for themselves.  With 7545 laps run during the morning I think we can all agree that everyone’s a winner!   It was great to see our Prep and Grade 1 students run this for the first time and to see how excited they were with all the support from teachers, parents and other students. It really struck a chord with us seeing the great sense of camaraderie amongst all the students lining up to high five runners, shouting encouragement and engaging in some healthy competition.  Congratulations Apollo for winning the Lapathon HouseTrophy for 2021 and to our classes for their wins – OE, 1C, 2C, 3D, 4A, 5D,6C - pizza lunch coming your way this Friday 28th May.  Parents, don’t forget to collect your child’s sponsorships and pay via QKR by 5pm Thursday 27th May.  Thanks to everyone who helped: Team Kids, parent volunteers and of course our wonderful teachers and support staff. 

Mums Social

What an epic evening of fun.  Our thanks to the 45 plus mums making up nine teams to take part in our trivia quiz.  Biggest thanks goes to our quizmaster, Michelle Gibson, who clearly should have her own TV show.  She definitely challenged us with some difficult rounds.  In the end the win went to the Quizzards of Oz, so well done Nina and team. • Friday 25th June – Last day of term Fun Lunch .  The kids favourite event - the great sausage sizzle with a free juice box thrown in.
• Saturday 24 July – Parents Mid-Year Event
• Sunday 1 August – Dad’s Footy Shirt Presentation Evening
• Saturday 7 August – Dad’s Footy Game – Brighton Primary School versus Brighton Beach Primary School
• Friday 17th September - Last day of term Fun Lunch
• Friday 19th November – Community Carnival
