From the Deputy Principal

Well Done and Congratulations to our VET Students

As our senior school wraps up for the year, it is time to celebrate the achievements of PHS students with their Vet Studies.

All students currently enrolled in VEt Courses have successfully passed all competencies/ units of work they have undertaken to date.

The following students have successfully completed their Certificate course this year – Eli, Joel, Max, Alex, Haylie, Jacob, Bryce and Kyla. Year 10 students, who started their Vet Course this year, will continue with their current Certificate courses in Engineering Pathways and Auto Servicing in 2021.

The pilot Kitchen Operations course we ran in partnership with TAFE SA has been very successful with participants completing this 18-week course this Friday. We were a pilot school and the first in SA to run this 18-week program with Nigel Stevens, the TAFE Lecturer, who has been very impressed by our students and their application and commitment to the course.

The Kitchen Operations course will run again in Semester 2 next year and I already have significant interest from our students who want to join the course.

We will have a few spaces available in this 18-week course if there are any Community members who are interested in signing up.

If you would like to find out more information or you want to express an interest in joining the course please contact me at PHS on 86512306.

Details for the course are on the information leaflet included in this newsletter.

*Dates for the 2021 course are yet to be confirmed. But will be in semester 2 of 2021
