Welcome to our School Newsletter for Week 7, Term 4.

Well, a lot has happened since our last newsletter!

Schools are certainly busy places as the year comes to an end, new teachers and SSOs are being selected and appointed to positions, timetables are written for the new year and the learning is reviewed to see how we can best support learners in their new academic year.

Our student free day was very successful. Teaching staff spent the day reviewing our 2020 School Improvement Plan and creating a new version for 2021 and analysing academic and wellbeing data for each and every learner to anticipate their needs for 2021. This was such a valuable experience and the teaching staff certainly appreciate the chance to spend a whole day focusing on improvement.

You may have noticed that the building in the picture above looks a little different. Our beautiful and historic stone building is having a facelift! The Department for Education is spending almost half a million dollars re-roofing, painting, and re-morticing the stone, as well as some other incidental bits and pieces. What a treat for our school and town to see the special building treated with respect and care.

I'd like to share a couple of plans for Presentation Night with you. At the moment we are having to create back up plans for our back up plans, in case of changes to restrictions, as well as our usual weather concerns. Please know that I'm desperately trying not to complicate the event, but I think forewarned is forearmed so here goes:

Plan A - The Presentation Night will be held on our oval on

Wednesday 9th December at 7pm, and every student is welcome to invite their entire family. We ask you to bring picnic blankets and outdoor chairs (we'll also have some chairs available) and make yourselves nice and comfy, in family/household groups. Students are asked to wear full school uniform and will be able to sit with their families, or with their class group. Every attendee will be asked to sign in on a COVID register upon arrival.

Plan B - If the weather turns nasty, the Presentation Night will be held in our gym and every family is allowed two guest (e.g. regardless of whether 1 or 4 of your children attend our school, there can only be two people attend). This is due to current restrictions on indoor venues. The ceremony will be streamed on a secure internet site and other family members and friends can watch from home. We will have chairs available at appropriate distances apart. Students are asked to wear full school uniform and will be asked to sit with their class group. Every attendee will be asked to sign in on a COVID register upon arrival.

Plan C - If COVID restrictions increase and we are no longer allowed to hold events with parent attendance, the Presentation Night will be held in our gym with staff and students only. The ceremony will be streamed on a secure internet site and other family members and friends can watch from home. Students are asked to wear full school uniform and will be asked to sit with their class group.

At the moment, we are still firmly sticking to plan A, but it's valuable for you to know what will happen if weather or COVID impacts our event.
