JOHN CUMMINS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

I am delighted to report the following students - Qiantong CHEN,  Oscar CRINO, Halima Akalo, Anthony Quang, An Thien Pham and Tural Yamazaki have been awarded scholarships on behalf of the John Cummins Memorial Fund, an organization associated with the Melbourne Community Foundation.

This fund was established in memory of John Cummins, a community activist dedicated to improving lives of working people.  He played a leading role in advancing health and safety laws, particularly in the construction industry as a leader of the C.F.M.E.U.

He recognised the advantages a good education could mean to passionate and ambitious students, broadening their opportunities for future studies and training.

Congratulations to these students, nominated by teachers who identified them as being clever, hardworking and ambitious.
