NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK
Last week we celebrated ‘National Science Week.’
We hope all the students and families enjoyed going a little ‘Science Mad’!!!

NATIONAL eSMART WEEK
This year our school has registered to take part in National eSmart Week.
eSmart is an initiative of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and is all about building supportive and connected social environments both on and offline.
This year’s National eSmart Week theme is Connecting Safely.
The week from 6-12 September celebrates the work schools have done to connect safely. Please keep an eye out over the coming week for more details about events and activities the students' families can get involved in.
This information will be shared through social media, Parent Portal and weekly level letters.

FOUNDATION
In Foundation, we have been learning about Poetry.
We are such superstar poets who have powerful knowledge about rhyming words, onomatopoeia, synonyms, adjectives and lots of features you may find in a poem.
Over the past two weeks we have been learning to write different types of poems and we are especially amazing at rhyming, cinquain and acrostic poems.
We will sign a copy of our poems when we are famous poets so keep a copy safe.

BLACKBERRIES STORY
Annie retelling the story Blackberries. Today our challenge was to bring the story to life and that is exactly what they did . Well done Annie and Jack.
COUNTING
This week in Prep we have been learning to skip count and we decided that today we would count in pairs (by twos). Hudson, Lyla and Lacie did such an amazing job counting with no number chart!! Wow!

WORD OF THE WEEK
This week our word of the week is car. We have been learning about the 'ar' digraph in car when two letters make one sound. We decided to create yummy treats and lego creation! Using onomatopoeia we brought our cars to life making all the sounds that they would make. chugga chugga, beep beep, Vroom vroom!!
