BOOK  WEEK

St James will be celebrating Book Week from Monday 31st August to Friday 4th September.

The theme this year is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.’

On Wednesday 2nd September the children will be invited to dress up as a favourite book character. They will share their costume and a favourite book with their peers online, during a class Google Meet.

We look forward to this special celebration of literature!

If you are interested in purchasing any of the 2020 Children’s Book Council of Australia Shortlisted books, which showcase some of the best Australian children's literature published in the past year, you might like to have a closer look at: https://cbca.org.au/shortlist-2020

SHARED STORIES

This term, whilst learning remotely, our students have continued to create some thoughtful, memorable pieces of writing and artwork that will be submitted for Shared Stories.

At this point in time, there are plans for a virtual launch in November or December, which we will live stream on the Shared Stories website. There will be more details to follow!

We are excited to see our wonderful St James students’ talents shared in this beautiful annual publication.

ST JAMES LIBRARY & LEARNING HUB

Mrs Nicola continues to keep our Library and Learning Hub looking great!

With new shelving recently added, the space is now an engaging and accessible learning environment for all.

We thank her for all her hard work and look forward to recommencing our weekly Library borrowing sessions sometime soon.
