Welcome to the Ballarat High School Sports Corner where all the results for school events, School Sport Victoria (SSV) events, BAS After School events and highlighting significant external sporting achievements from present and past students can be found.

BAS Cross Country Championships

On Wednesday 2nd August Ballarat High School had the pleasure of being the host school for the BAS Cross Country Championships. 300 + Students from BHS, Loreto College, St Patricks College, Damascus College, Ballarat Clarendon College & Ballarat Grammar competed on the day.

BHS had 31 students compete in the event over all 6 of the different age groups. The weather was absolutely perfect for cross county running but certain sections of the course provided very difficult conditions under foot.

School Sport Victoria (SSV) Events

SSV Greater Western Region Year 7 & 8 Soccer

On Wednesday 2nd August BHS qualified 3 teams (Year 7 Boys, Year 7 Girls, Year 8 Boys) for the SSV Greater Western Region Year 7 & 8 Soccer at the Wendouree West Soccer Reserve, Ballarat.

The Year 7 teams both had one-off matches against Trinity College and came out victorious with 6-1 & 3-1 wins. The Year 8 Boys team found themselves in a much tougher assignment in a 6-team pool play competition. Unfortunately, they missed out on making the grand final due to a goal difference of just 1 goal.

Both of the Year 7 sides have now qualified for the SSV State Final Championships in the last few weeks of term.
