JUNIOR SCHOOL

Semester One Reports

The Semester One Report, along with the Effort and Dedication Report were published as PDFs to parents on the 24th June. The Semester Reports were also mailed to parents in the holidays. Parents received notification of this via email and Astra News.

Merit Certificates (Semester One)

Merit Certificates were award at the end of Term Two Assembly. Copies of the Merits will be processed online by end of Week 3.

SENIOR SCHOOL

Continuous Reporting on Astra

For most subjects, each time students undertake any specific assessment task, the subject teacher will provide written feedback on the task and the grade achieved on Astra. Feedback on general progress will be provided online each term, including a summary of your child’s effort and dedication to the subject in general.

Parents receive notifications via Astra. At the end of the year, Parents will also receive an online Academic Report - “Statement of Results”.

Comparative Assessment and Student Performance Graph Reports (Semester One)

Results have just been finalised this week for Semester One. This process has been delayed due to COVID lockdowns. The reports should be published to parents on Astra by Monday 26th July at the latest and parents will be notified via Astra News.

Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care Reports (Semester One)

These reports were published by each Head of House by the end of last term. They are available on Astra via grades. The reports will also be published on Astra as a PDF for parents when the Merits are awarded for Semester One. They should be available to parents by Monday 26th July at the latest and parents will be notified via Astra News/Reports Tab.

Effort and Dedication Reports

In Semester One teachers published on Astra four rounds of Effort and Dedication for most subjects. You can view these results via Grades. The next round of Effort and Dedication are due for Senior School by the end of Week 4. Parents will receive an Astra notification from teachers as they are published online.

Merit Certificates (Semester One)

Senior School Academic Excellence, Academic Endeavour, Co-curricular Endeavour and House Endeavour Merits will now be processed online to parents due to Term Three COVID lockdown. When the Merits are awarded parents will receive notification via Astra News and the relevant parents and students will also receive an email. They should be finalised by end of Week 2 and processed early Week 3. The Certificates will be given to students via House Tutors when we return to face to face learning this term.

Instrumental Reports

Senior and Junior School Semester One Instrumental Reports were published online to parents during the recent holiday break.

Accessing Reports via Astra

Academic Reports:

You can access your child’s PDF Report via Astra - https://astra.girton.vic.edu.au. The “Academic Reports” button is located under your child’s photo, to the right of their Timetable button. Select this and you will see all the Girton Academic Reports, along with Merit Certificates from 2020.

Online Grades view:

To view all of your child’s grades and feedback, log in to Astra - https://astra.girton.vic.edu.au Then select the ‘Grades’ tab underneath your child’s photo, you will see a full overview of any published grades and comments. You can also select the relevant subject from the drop-down list. You can also access the published ‘Grades’ by clicking on the notification you receive to go directly to the feedback. Please select the FAQs icon located on your parent Astra dashboard to help with accessing Grades and other helpful hints. Under the sub-heading Parent FAQs, you will find links to instruction pages and helpful Video tutorials from a past parent information session.

Other Reports:

Only Girton Grammar Academic Reports are available via this Astra Icon. If you want to view other reports e.g. NAPLAN you need to select “Documents” on your opening page, then click on your child’s name to the right of the screen, and the other reports will be under the subheading of “Government Reports”.

On Astra, you can also see your child’s Timetable, Calendar, Due Work and lots more by selecting your child’s name on the left-hand side of the home page. To return to the Astra home page, click the Astra logo on the top left.
