NEW - ''Cuppa, Cake & Conversation"

We are excited to be able to offer our first series of 'Cuppa, Cake and Conversation'. These sessions are aimed at addressing topics that our community are wanting and engaging in school life. This term we are offering two topics of conversation - Reading with Kids and SIMON Everywhere. Reading with Kids will be held on Monday May 23 and SIMON Everywhere Monday May 30. NEW - Italian

All classes have been learning about Carnevale in the first three weeks of term. They have had great fun designing and making their own masks. Here is a preview of the Grade 5/6s. Keep an eye out for the other classes in our next newsletter.

NEW - Shepparton Division Cross Country

On Friday the 13th of May, the placegetters from our Sacred Heart Cross Country day went on to participate in the Shepparton District Cross Country at Princess Park.

The day commenced with the 10-year-old runners with Max Reid and Kallen Organ taking the starting line. The boys ran a great race and just missed out on qualifying for the next stage. Well done boys!

Our second race was run by our 10-year-old girls, Isabella Cameron, Grace McKinnon and Eva Minutoli. All three girls did a fantastic job. All three girls ran a fantastic race with Bella squeezing into the Top 12, qualifying for the next stage. Well done to all the girls! Next up were the 11-year-old boys. Spencer Connors and Emerson Brady did their best, despite battling illness and injury the boys were able to complete their races and did us all proud with their resilience and determination. Well done boys.

Following the 11-year-old boys were the girls. Madison Worm, Char Whitford and Danni Do-Le ran their hearts out and did the school proud. Madi ran amazingly, finishing in the Top 12, qualifying for the next stage. Well done girls.

The final two races were run by our 12-year-old boys and girls. The boys were first up, Aryan Shetty, Kane Organ and Sidney Nihill were our runners. As soon as the race began it started to rain! Fortunately, that didn’t bother our boys one bit. Sidney finished the race in the Top 12, qualifying for the next stage. Kane (with a broken arm) finished not long after followed closely by Aryan. Sure, enough the minute the race finished the rain did too!

Finally, it was our 12-year-old girl's turn. In this race we were represented by Tori Wellington and Ruby Dalton. Unfortunately, Emma Quinlan was unable to run due to an inflamed tendon in her foot, on doctor’s orders she had to rest it! The girls did such a fantastic job. Despite Ruby slipping in mud, she was able to finish in the race with Tori following close behind her. Sidney, Madi and Bella all managed to finish in the Top 12 in their respective races, meaning that they have been asked to run in the next stage, competing in the Hume Region Cross Country that will be held in Euroa on Friday 17th of June.

NEW - Art Term 2

Who are we? Where are we? Where are we going? Where does this road lead?

Grade 5/6 students investigated the colourful landscapes of contemporary artist, Grant Haffner. After mastering the skill of 1-point perspective drawing, students designed their own colourful landscapes by choosing their colour palette and tone and created a straight and narrow or wonderfully winding road - to lead us, the viewer, off into the distance.

Grade 3/4 students studied the wonderful abstract world of Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky was a Russian artist born in 1866. From an early age he discovered that he had a condition called Synaesthesia. Synaesthesia is when you experience one of your senses through another; in Kandinsky’s case, when he painted he heard sounds like music and when he listened to music, he saw colour. How amazing!

Kandinsky is thought of as the forefather of Abstract art. Lots of shapes, lines and of course, colour. Take a look at our Kandinsky inspired Concentric Circles (F-2) and our very own abstract masterpieces (3/4).

Simon Everywhere App - Download Today!

The Simon Everywhere App has all the functions currently utilised by parents through the Parent Access Module (PAM) with the added benefit of push notifications sent directly to your phone. The app will also save your login details (the same details to login to PAM) so you do not have to log in each time with a username and password. Pupil Free Day

Please note Friday 10th of June is a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be undertaking a Learning and Teaching Professional Development Day.

Lunch Orders

Tatura Hot Bread Bakery will be providing the School lunch orders for two days a week. Lunch orders will be available Thursdays and Fridays. Please find below the 2022 price list.

A reminder orders are to be done through the School, not to be dropped off at the Bakery.

Sun Protection Policy

Students at Sacred Heart are expected to wear a hat during all outdoor activities from the of 1st September to 30th April in accordance with the school's Sun Protection Policy. Children will remain on the verandah if they are not wearing the correct school hat during break times or will sit in a shaded area during outdoor school activities. Parents, please support us by ensuring your child has their school hat in their bag.

Second Hand Uniform Sales

Sacred Heart will now only be accepting second hand uniform items as a donation to the school. If families wish to sell items we request that this is done privately. Please see below the current winter uniform stock available for purchase. If you wish to have a browse of the uniforms or make a purchase, please see Sally in the school office on Tuesday or Wednesday.
