Echuca-Moama Theatre Company (EMTC) is back, better than ever...

With A Better You.

Auditions are over, a cast has been announced, and rehearsals have begun in earnest for the play.

Directors Tricia Deakin and Lesley Robins said the cast had hit the ground running.

They include Lauren Douglas as highly-strung Cathy-Anne, Aimee Connally as neurotic Patricia, Zoe Cook as kooky Josie, Francie Finn as classy Constance, Wendy Bennett as eccentric Mildred, Honni Goulding as biker Bella and Ivy Jensen and Gerard Oman as ballroom dancing couple Maxine and Clifford.

“The play is taking shape and we’re all trying to keep our composure as the hilarious lines come one after the other from this amazing group of actors,” Tricia said.

“It’s just so great to be back doing what we all love, developing a story to tell our audiences.”

A Better You, a comedy by Mark C Bourne, tells the story of a group of women who meet at a community hall each week.

During one session, a representative of ‘A Better You’ self-help program has been invited as guest speaker.

However, the women have their own problems, including infidelity, wedding planning and finding a toilet roll thief, and become easily distracted.

Things do not according to plan, even for the self-help guru whose own partner is constantly calling her to discuss the lack of offspring in their increasingly rocky relationship.

Teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown and with the women's misguided efforts to help, things go from bad to worse.

The play will be performed from July 21-24 at Radcliffe’s.

“We are really excited to do something a little different this time, partnering with Radcliffe’s to offer an entertainment and eating experience,” Tricia said.

Platters will be provided as part of the ticket price of $49 at both the evening and matinee performances.
