Students are encouraged to contribute to their school, local and global community. In year 9 all of our students participate in a Community Project. The students work independently, outside of school hours to raise awareness of local and global issues, participate in action across the community or school context.

DEFENCE FORCE - LONG TAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP

AWARDS

The Australian Defence Force Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork within both the school and the broader local community. At the same time, they recognise those who display strong values such as doing one’s best, respect for others and mateship, characteristics that are integral to Australian society.

The ADF (Australian Defence Force) Future Innovators Award recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork within both the school and the broader local community. At the same time, they recognise those who display strong values such as doing one’s best, respect for others andmateship,characteristics that are integral to Australian society.

The Dunkley Shield is an award presented to the student who displays exceptional personal qualities including being “Positive, Passionate and Persistent” and applying them to the school community.

THE RAYMOND RINGER MATHS/SCIENCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Raymond Ringer believed in affordable education for all and that all students should be encouraged to continue their education in the Maths and Sciences. In his memory, Ray’s family would like to endow a scholarship toward school levies to an under represented student, encouraging them to continue their education in Maths and Science.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND PERSONAL LEARNING AWARDS

Academic excellence and personal learning excellence awards. Students have been nominated throughout the year for these awards and it means that they are performing at least 12 months above the standard for years 7-10, based on Victorian Curriculum assessment. Students in VCE that receive an award have achieved an overall A grading for the subject. Personal Learning Excellence is awarded to students that have consistently demonstrated ‘VERY GOOD’ across all indicators on their personal learning reports.
