On Wednesday, Miss Smedley’s father, Alan, visited Kingswood Primary School. During 1J’s Library time, Alan read the book "Rabbits Hop", written by Alex Rance.

The students enjoyed having Alan read a book to them. I am sure that Miss Smedley was very proud to introduce her beautiful grade to her dad.

LIBRARY NEWS

Well, well, well! What a busy Book Week it has been. We have thoroughly enjoyed all of the following activities:

• Miss Smedley’s dad reading the book “Rabbit’s Hop”  to 1J
• A "Book Tasting" event in the library on Wednesday
• Books read outside at lunchtime to the students
• A show performed for the Preps to Year 2 on the book “The All New Must Have Orange 430”
• A book themed, whole school Dress-Up Day
• The author George Ivanoff talking to the Year 3 to 6 students
• The Library display with all the staff being given their own Superpower

I am pleased to announce the winning Children’s Book Council of Australia, Shortlisted Books, which were announced last Friday. A complete list of all the winners is attached.

It has been a lot of fun and I want you all to know how happy I am with all the excitement being generated by books and reading.
