 Harmony Day Assembly 

Thank you to the Hand Bell Ensemble for their very harmonious performance of ‘Love is Come Again’ at the Harmony Day Assembly this week.

National Call for Compositions!

Artology is calling for submissions for the 2022 Music program.  Students are invited to submit a composition for the following categories:

  1. Fanfare Composition: create a 30 second attention grabbing fanfare to be recorded and Broadcast at various venues around Australia.
  2. ‘To Country’ Join Artology mentor Christopher Sainsbury and compose your own one minute musical ‘Acknowledgment to Country’. An opportunity for anyone to show respect for Traditional Owners and the connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to country.

Artology's programs offer free or assisted travel to attend workshops together with the opportunity to work with professional composers, conductors, sound engineers and musicians, and the opportunity to have your music recorded live with the Sydney Youth Orchestra.  For more information:  info@artology.org.au (02) 8007 7322

Orpheus Strings 

The next Orpheus Strings Concert is on Sunday, 3rd April in the Pat Heffernan Hall, at Katoomba Public School. This special memorial concert will also feature Blue Mountains City Band. The City Band will perform individually and then join with the orchestra for the finale.  The program concludes works by Gustave Holst Aram Khachaturian, Anton Dvorak, Gordon MacKenzie, Edward MacDowell, Leroy Anderson, Irving Berlin, Lew Pollack, Edward Elgar and John. W. Bratton
