Curriculum Day tomorrow!

A reminder tomorrow is a pupil-free day. Our teachers who will spend the day writing students’ Semester 2 reports and our Education Support Staff will be engaging in behaviour management professional learning.

All the best to Assistant Principal, Amy Prior and her partner, Luke and Jorja Cram and her husband, Josh as both Amy and Jorja break for maternity leave next Wednesday.

Over the past three years as Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning), Amy has been instrumental in enhancing our educational approaches and practices, in what was a new role at the time of her employment for the school. Another of our school’s educational leaders, Bree Jennings, will take on the role in Amy’s absence.

Jorja began her time at Croydon Hills as an Integration Aide, working with special needs students. For the past three years, Jorja has been a literacy educator supporting the learning growth of students requiring additional phonological awareness.

Working With Children’s Certification

The Working with Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children in Victoria. Over the past fortnight, a few parents visited the school to help in the classroom without a WWCC.

It is a requirement of schools, sporting clubs, and other organised groups that all volunteers have a valid WWCC. As such, our school encourages all parents and carers to have a WWCC, even if they don’t plan on being a regular helper.

WWCCs are free and only need to be updated every five years. For more information on WWCCs, please view our school’s Volunteer Policy.

Colour Run

On Friday last week the school was once again awash with colour as our community enjoyed our annual Colour Run.

Thank you to our wonderful CHAPS team for putting on the event. A special mention to long standing CHAPS member and School Councillor Allison Mattison. Allison is in her last year as a parent at our school with Colour Run her annual highlight. Thank you Allison for your contributions over the years!

Thank you also to the team at Wonga Park CFA for making the day that little bit more special!
