POLDING CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS

It's not too far away before Angus and Annie will be representing the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Cross Country Trials on the 7th June at Eastern Creek. We wish them both the best of luck as they will be competing against the best cross country runners from all of the dioceses in the northern half of the state. We know both of you will do us proud.

DIOCESAN CRICKET TRIALS

The Diocesan Cricket trials for interested students in Years 5 and 6 will be held in Tamworth on Friday 17th June, 2022. 

SCHOOL OZTAG COMPETITION

The School's Oztag Competition came to a conclusion on Tuesday with the grand final being played with the Gorillas taking on the Lions. Both teams went into the game full of confidence and there was a large number of students who had taken part in the competition and were knock out in the semi finals watched the game with great interest. It was fantastic to see how much both teams had improved since the compeition started late last term. The grand final was a game of high quality with some outstanding attacking displays as well as some desperate defense in the final moments of the game. But what was most pleasing with that there was great sportspersonship displayed through the whole game.

Unfortunately we could only have had one winner and our champions for 2022 are the Gorillas. The Gorillas won the grand final by defeating the Lions 8 to 7 after extra time.

A big thank you goes out to Connor and Hamish who assisted in being touch judges as well as setting up the field when the games were scheduled to be played. However, we need to give a big cheer to Frankie who did a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure that this competition could take place. From coming up with the concept, sending out nominations, selecting teams, scoring as well as being a sideline referee on most days. Frankie, you have done a great job and should be proud of yourself.

Very soon a new lunch time sporting competition will be beginning. More information will be released in the very near future.

Sporting Schools Grant Term 2

We have received notification that our application for Term 2 Sporting Schools Grant has been successful. We will have 4 lessons for each class during Term 2 on Athletics in assisting the students prepare for our school athletics carnival during the last week of the term. These lesson will commence next Friday 3rd June.
