SCIENCE WEEK 2022

National Science Week was celebrated all over Australia from the 13th to the 21st of August. In MLA we made links to our LLF unit by completing various science experiments to explore the use of simple machines and/or forces. 

We completed a POE - Predict, Observe and Explain graphic organiser. We made a prediction before, noted down our observations during and then explained the science after each experiment.

BOOK WEEK

CBCA Book is a time for schools spend the week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. At SJW we started our week with a book parade, it was great to see so many students (and teachers) participate and dress up in such creative costumes. 

We felt inspired after our visit from Michael Salmon who is an illustrator of children's books. See the photos below for some of our own illustrations.
