Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Whilst the days are starting to be warmer, we continue to experience some chilly weather. There are still many students away each day due to illness and l encourage families to continue to closely monitor their health and keep them home if they are unwell.

The following procedures remain in place:

  • Inform the school if your child tests positive for COVID. They must be isolated at home for 7 days.
  • Inform the school if your child is a household contact of a positive case. Students who are household contacts of a COVID-19 case are not required to quarantine.  They may return to school if they undertake rapid antigen tests (RAT) 5 times during their 7- day period. They are required to wear a face mask when indoors at school.
  • Students should continue to stay home if they are unwell, even if they test negative on a RAT.
  • If your child is unwell at school, we will contact you to come and collect them.

Book Week Parade

Thank you to all our families for their support of our Book Parade on Monday morning. The staff and students looked fantastic and it was wonderful to have so many parents attend the Book Parade. Special thanks to Rosa Adorno for organising and leading this event for our community.

Father’s Day Stall and Assembly

Our Father’s Day Stall will be held next Thursday, September 1st.  Details regarding this have been shared with families via skoolbag.  We are also looking forward to welcoming our Dads to a special assembly beginning at 2.30pm in the hall.  We hope you can join us to acknowledge the wonderful role fathers have in our lives.

School Fees

It is important that all school fees are paid in full at the end of Term 3 unless you are using the direct debit system to pay your fees.  It is important that all fees are paid in full and on time to enable the school to meet its financial obligations.  Please do not hesitate to contact Marisa if you wish to discuss your account or wish to set up a direct debit plan.

Morning Drop Off

Just a friendly reminder to all parents regarding drop off in the morning.  Please drive as far forward as possible before stopping to let children out of the car. This will ensure that all students can leave cars in a safe manner without disturbing the flow of traffic.

Confirmation

Please keep our Year 6 students in your prayers as they will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday, 2nd September 6.30pm.

School Council Update

At our School Advisory Council meetings, we have been discussing possible school community events for 2023.  In our planning we are focussed on planning events that enrich the community and enhance the life of students.  We aim to provide all families with a calendar of events in 2023 that provide opportunities to engage our community, fund raise and engage families in teaching and learning.  Further updates will be provided in Term 4.

Our School Advisory Council has also been investigating a platform for families to sell second hand uniforms.  Next week l will share this platform with families and we welcome your feedback regarding this.

Professional Learning

On Thursday, 8th October – Saturday 17th October l will be joining Catholic Primary Principals from the North Central Zone to fly to Darwin as part of our focus to deepen our curriculum knowledge and Cultural understanding and appreciation of First Nations people.  We will be visiting the Tiwi Islands, Daly River and working with Miriam Rose to better understand the traditions of First Nations people.  I look forward to bringing this knowledge and experience back to our school next term.

Long Service Leave
