BOOKWEEK

A big thank you to all parents and students for your wonderful effort with this year’s Book Week Parade. It has been several years since we have had one and I think the students loved getting out there to show their love of books and characters.

Book Week Parade Prizes have been awarded by classroom teachers for the most unique or interesting character. Congratulations to the following students. Enjoy your prize!!

Michael Salmon presented a lively and fun illustration session to the whole school on Monday 22nd August. He talked about his love of drawing and writing and what inspired him most. 

He drew Christian (year 6), Lacey (year 4) as funny caricatures and William (prep) had to draw Michael. 

Lee Fox is a Melbourne based author who visited our Prep -2 students in the Library on Thursday 25th August. She talked about how she uses rhyming words to help write her books.

LUKE: I liked when Ella wouldn’t brush her hair!

TAHLIA: I liked the story about the 10 Little Hermit Crabs.

LILY: I like her play with the crabs.

JOSHUA, ISAAC, XAVIER We really enjoyed Lee’s moving story board on her story, The 10 Little Hermit Crabs 

SOFIA: Lee makes funny books.

GRACE: I liked how she remembered all the words to her stories.

 

ANGELINA: I liked how Lee used songs when telling the story.
