Rehearsals and Instrumental Music Lessons

Ensemble rehearsals and instrumental music lessons recommenced this week. If you wish to enrol for these lessons, please get a handbook from the office or email me at cspannenbu@cns.catholic.edu.au. Places are filling fast, and some instructors have a waiting list so get in quickly.

Caramina Burana

This is a wonderful choral and orchestra work composed by Carl Orff. Our first rehearsal went better than we could have hoped for. All instrumental music students, most particularly choir, are expected to participate. If you are interested in participating, please contact me asap to secure your spot. This is an amazing opportunity to experience a major work – something not many in Cairns get the chance to do. The show will be held in CPAC and Saints will be working with St Monica’s and St Andrew’s. There is only one performance on Thursday 27 April. It will be an evening not to be missed, with plenty of talented students in the first half of the show and Carmina in the second half.

Our other major event of the year will be the Brisbane tour. The Saints-only ensembles will be performing at the Queensland Catholic Music Festival, taking in a show at QPAC and visiting some university campuses. Expressions of interest will be sent out soon.
