Sporting Achievements

BNPS has had another successful year with many sporting achievements.

 

Congratulations to all of our students.

 

  • BNPS District Swimming team finished 4th place
  • BNPS District Cross Country team finished 2nd place
  • BNPS District Athletics team finished 1st place

 

Individually we had some excellent results-

Cross Country- STATE

  • Isabella D (Year 5)
  • Eddie A  (Year 6) in our multiclass division

Athletics- STATE

  • Xavier H (Year 6) represented in Long Jump
  • Micah H (Year 5) represented in Long Jump
  • Xavier W in multiclass division represented in Long Jump, 100m and 200m and received 1st place in all events

INDIVIDUAL Sporting Schools Victoria Representative

Every year all year 5 and year 6 students are given the opportunity to trial for a sporting team to represent the SSV in a chosen sport. It is a gruelling trial system which requires the student to attend numerous try outs against other students throughout the state and a cut is made after each trial. 

 

This year, for the first time in many years we had LIAM B-H (Year 6) represent the state in Team VIC AFL. He was lucky enough to travel with the team and compete against the other states. He played in the Grand Final for Victoria against South Australia. 

Sporting Teams

 

The following teams won the District section of the competition and then progressed to the next level to compete against other outside Districts. If they win that round they go to Divisional level, then to Regional and last progression is STATE.

 

     Summer Sports

  • Girls OZ TAG- won our District and unfortunately the gala day was cancelled so were unable to progress this year but still did extremely well. Coach- Mrs Hall
  • Girls SOFTBALL- won our District and progressed to Regionals. Wonderful effort by the girls team. Coach- Mr Marashli
  • Girls BASKETBALL- won our District and progressed to Division. Great effort by all. Coach- Mr Farmer

Winter Sports

  • Mixed Netball -won our District and proceeded to the Division level round robin day. Made the Grand Final and went down by 1 goal. Coach- Mrs Hall
  • AFL Boys and Girls Teams- both teams did exceptionally well to win our District and both teams made it to the STATE gala days. Boys team finished in approx. 6th place and the Girls team finished 3rd in the state. Amazing effort by all students. Coach- Mr Farmer.
