Performing Arts update

Welcome back to Term 4. I hope everyone managed to have a restful and relaxing break. This term is another busy one for the Performing Arts department. With Presentation Evening coming up, there will be a lot of preparation over the coming weeks.

Oriana K, Australian National Eisteddfod

Year 4 student Oriana K recently performed at the Australian National Eisteddfod, held in Canberra. The standard of the performers is extremely high, Oriana came away with a very impressive haul of placings:

  • 9 and under Classical, third place, Clementi G major sonata 2nd movement
  • 9 and under own choice, first place
  • 9 and under own choice restricted, first place
  • 9 and under Australian composer, first place
  • 10 and under own choice, first place
  • 10 and under baroque, third place
  • 10 and under classical, third place

Upcoming events

Years 7 and 8 Extension Music Recital – Wednesday 12 October, 7pm

All students in Year 7 and 8 Extension classes will be performing on Wednesday 12 October in the Shelford Hall at 7pm.

 

Art Projection Night – Friday 14 October

The Jazz Ensemble will be performing at the Art Projection Night, all students in the group will be required to attend.

 

AMEB exams

Thursday 13 October – voice exams

Monday 17 October – piano exams

Thursday 20 October – violin/viola exams
